Delhi: A devastating incident occurred at a mall in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar on Tuesday evening, claiming the life of a 3-year-old child. The toddler fell from the handrail of an escalator while his parents were preoccupied with purchasing movie tickets.

According to the Delhi Police, the parents’ distraction proved fatal, as the curious child wandered off to the escalator and attempted to climb the handrail. Tragically, he lost his balance and plummeted from a significant height.

Rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, the child was pronounced dead by doctors. This heartbreaking incident has sparked concerns about the adequacy of safety measures in public spaces, particularly for young children.

The Pacific Mall in Tilak Nagar is now under scrutiny, with many questioning its safety protocols. The police have launched an investigation into the incident, which serves as a poignant reminder of the need for vigilant and responsible parenting in public areas.

This tragic event highlights the importance of prioritizing child safety and supervision in crowded public spaces. As the investigation unfolds, it is essential for parents, caregivers, and mall authorities to reassess their safety measures and take proactive steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
