Indore: 3 Kalindi Gold City Houses Burgled, Escaped With Cash And Valuables Worth Lakhs Of Rupees |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a brazen pre-dawn theft, unidentified miscreants targeted three houses in Kalindi Gold City and escaped with cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees in the early hours of Friday.
The audacious crime has raised serious concern over the effectiveness of police patrolling in the area.
According to police sources, the first house targeted was that of Prakashchandra Ahirwar. Thieves reportedly cut the door latch to gain entry and looted Rs 70,000 in cash along with gold and silver ornaments kept in an almirah. The theft came to light when Ahirwar returned home and found his house ransacked.
The gang then struck the neighbouring house of Siddharth Ramteke, again breaking the latch to gain access. They managed to flee with valuables estimated to be worth several lakhs.
The third and final target in the same locality was the residence of Rahul Kushwah. The family was out of town at the time, and thieves broke the main lock to enter and decamped with cash and valuables.
The spate of thefts has triggered anger and fear among residents, who expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of night patrolling in the township.
Police officials said that a case has been registered following preliminary investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to identify the culprits and trace their movements. A manhunt is currently underway.
