Thane: Three people suffered serious injuries after a truck loaded with chickens lost control and hit a Pokelane that was working on the road in Thane on Thursday. The injured have been identified as Abdul Barique (40), Faizul Ansari (30), and Rajesh Gaud (27), all of whom are residents of the Vasant Vihar area in Thane.
The incident took place on the Nashik-Mumbai Highway near Saket bridge in Thane on Thursday when a truck transporting chickens from Nashik to Mumbai lost control and rammed into the Pokelane that was working on the road. Following this collision, three people were trapped inside the truck. Passersby rushed to the spot and informed the local authorities.
Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Police, said, “We received information about the incident. We dispatched one fire engine, an emergency tender, and one pickup to the spot and extricated them from the truck.”
The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital where their treatment is ongoing. The mangled truck was removed from the road and traffic movement was restored smoothly.
