Panvel Municipal Corporation is organizing a grand three-day festival, Hirkani Mahotsav, from March 7 to 9, to honor and celebrate women on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

As part of the festival, 25 self-help group stalls will be set up, showcasing a wide range of products such as cloth bags, jewelry, clothing, food items, footwear, bags, cleaning products, incense sticks, purses, sarees, and beauty products.” This initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship among women and encourage small businesses,” said an official.

Recognizing the importance of women’s health, a special health camp has been arranged to offer screenings for oral cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer (Pap smear test). Additionally, various blood tests, including hemoglobin level checks, will be conducted by experts from MGM Medical College.

A special attraction of the event will be actress Bhargavi Chirmule, who will conduct a fitness session for women.

To empower women with self-defense skills, Tapaswi Gondhali, a national award-winning self-defense expert and director of Swayamsiddha, along with her team, will conduct a live demonstration. Additionally, Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Kadam from the Navi Mumbai Cyber Cell will hold an awareness session on cyber fraud and preventive measures.
