Mumbai: A tragic suicide has been reported from Matunga, where a young man allegedly took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence. The deceased has been identified as Akash Bhiva Khandare (28). Matunga Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and initiated an investigation into the incident.

According to police sources, Khandare lived alone on the seventh floor of the Kachadkhana building. Preliminary investigations suggest that financial difficulties may have driven him to take this extreme step. Khandare was married and had a son, but his wife had left him about two months ago, contributing to his depression.

Police confirmed that no suicide note was found at the scene. Neighbors alerted the authorities after discovering the incident during the night. Responding officers found Khandare’s body hanging from the fan. His remains were sent to Sion Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Khandare was employed at a chrome manufacturing company. It has been revealed that he was burdened with debt, and repeated visits from creditors had worsened his mental health. Police suspect that this financial stress may have been the primary reason behind his suicide. However, further investigations are underway to establish all circumstances surrounding his death.
