Man Shot Dead For Dispute Over 100 Bricks; Half-a-Dozen Men Openly Fired On Deceased | Representational Image

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 27-year-old brick contractor was allegedly shot dead over ₹1100 in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur. A private school operator was arrested in the case.

The incident took place in Adityapuram area of ​​Maharajpura police station area, after accused school operator refused to pay money for Rs 1100, labeling 100 bricks as damaged. A verbal argument broke out between the two, when the accused and his friends opened firing on the victim.

The deceased contractor has been identified as Chhatrapal Lodhi, a resident of Padampur Kheria, who used to supply building material.

After the incident, the family blocked the road at Gola Ka Mandir intersection by placing the body on the road.

Dispute over 100 Bricks

The police took immediate action after seeing the situation and arrested private school operator Brijendra Singh Tomar.

According to the information, about 10 days ago, Chhatrapal Lodhi had supplied bricks to Brijendra Singh Tomar, the operator of a private school in Adityapuram. The total payment was made, but ₹1,100 for 100 bricks was withheld.

The school operator said that these bricks were in a damaged condition in the trolley, so they will not be paid. Whereas Chhatrapal claimed that additional bricks had already been sent in lieu of the damaged ones, and the remaining amount should be given to him.

Half a dozen man fired on deceased man

Chhatrapal was contacting Brijendra for the outstanding amount for the last 10 days. According to the family members, Brijendra used to say in an arrogant tone, “I am a Tomar, you will not be able to do anything. Tomar’s rule prevails here.”

On Thursday night, Brijendra dialled Chhatrapal and called him to BP City in Adityapuram. The argument before the two and Brijendra started pushing Chhatrapal, according to the eye witnesses.

Following this Chhatrapal’s called his brothers and friends to the spot.

When Chhatrapal’s aides arrived, Brijendra and his half a dozen friends surrounded Chhatrapal and started firing at him. The bullet from the Mauser hit Chhatrapal in the stomach and he fell down. Seeing him bleeding, the accused and his aides fled in his Scorpio.

Chhattrapal was first taken to the local Birla Hospital, from where he was referred to JAH after seeing his critical condition. Doctors at the trauma center declared him dead after examination.
