In this match, Sri Lanka batted first and scored 218 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the New Zealand team also gave its full strength but fell 7 runs short of the target. He scored 211 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Thus, adding the scores of both the teams resulted in a total of 429 runs in the match, which is a new record for the total runs in a T20 match played between the two teams.

Kusal Perera scored the fastest T20 century for Sri Lanka

Batting first, the Sri Lankan team was successful in scoring 218 runs as Kusal Perera scored a lot of runs for them. He created a new record for Sri Lanka by scoring the fastest T20I century. Kusal Perera played an inning of 101 runs in 45 balls against New Zealand. Meanwhile, he completed his century in just 44 balls, which included 13 fours and 4 sixes. In terms of scoring the fastest T20I century for Sri Lanka, Perera broke Dilshan’s record of a century in 55 balls in 2011.

Now when the New Zealand team came to answer the runs scored by Sri Lanka, thanks to the explosive century of Kusal Perera, the rain of runs did not reduce there too. The opening pair made a blazing start of 81 runs. Although no batsman of the Kiwi team could score a century, they remained one step ahead of Sri Lanka in terms of hitting sixes.
