South Korea: A 24-year-old man was convicted by a high court in South Korea for a series of sexual crimes, including rape – after the assault was reflected on a washing machine door and recorded on a CCTV footage, according to a report by BBC News.

The crime was not visible in the CCTV footage submitted by the victim until police spotted the assault in the lid of the washing machine’s reflection.

Reports suggest, the perpetrator had already been indicted for other offenses, including the suspected rape of a former girlfriend and sex with a minor in November 2024.

After his release, the convicted man is required to wear an ankle tag for seven years and has been banned from working in facilities for children, juveniles and disabled people for the same period.
