Salary of MPs: The salary of all the MPs of the country is going to increase drastically. Not only this, the daily allowance of MPs is also going to increase. Along with this, the pension given to former MPs is also going to increase. At present, MPs get a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month, which is being increased by 24 percent to Rs 1.24 lakh. The daily allowance given to MPs is also being increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500. Along with this, the monthly pension of former MPs is being increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 31,000.
MPs will get a total of 2.54 lakh rupees every month
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said that this increase in salary, daily allowances and pension of former MPs will be applicable from April 1, 2023. These changes have been made using the powers provided by Members of Parliament Salary, Allow and Pension Act, 1954 and are based on the cost inflation index specified in the Income Tax Act, 1961. Current MPs, including salary, constituency and office allowances, will now get a total salary of Rs 2,54,000 per month. The salary of MPs increases every five years

In 2018, former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley proposed a law to automatically amend the salary of MPs according to inflation every 5 years. MPs in India get many types of allowances and facilities along with salary. In addition to salary, MPs get Rs 70,000 per month as constituency allowance and Rs 60,000 per month as office allowance.
