Palghar, Maharashtra: The dangerous consequences of excessive mobile gaming continue to plague young lives, as a 20-year-old youth in Nalasopara tragically died by suicide.
The young man, identified as Aryan Singh, was reportedly addicted to playing mobile games, and his family believes that the resulting depression led him to take this extreme step.
This heartbreaking incident follows a similar tragedy just last week in Virar, where a 12-year-old boy also ended his life after his mother refused to give him his mobile phone.
Aryan Singh resided with his maternal uncle and aunt at the Saihari Apartment in Tulinj, Nalasopara East. Originally from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, Aryan was staying with his relatives in Nalasopara for his education while his parents lived in their native village.
On Thursday night, when no one else was home, he tragically hanged himself using a saree tied to the kitchen fan. Upon discovering the incident, his family rushed him to the Tulinj Municipal Hospital in Vijay Nagar, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Before taking his own life, Aryan left a note on the refrigerator in the kitchen. The note, written in English, stated, “I am fed up with life. No one is responsible for my suicide.” Aryan was a 14th-grade student at Thakur College in Kandivali.
Aryan’s maternal uncle, Shatrudhan Singh, informed the Tulinj police that Aryan was addicted to playing mobile games and had become depressed due to his constant engagement with them.
Aryan’s parents reside in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The investigating officer from Tulnij Police Station, stated that a case of accidental death has been registered in this regard.
