Komal Sainath Madhwai (age 20) from Chichondi Khurd (Tel. Yeola) drowned in a farm pond on Thursday at around 8 am.
Police informed that when Komal’s father asked her to do some work in the farm pond next to her house, she slipped and fell into the pond and died. At this time, the citizens tried to save her, but their efforts were insufficient.
After this, for forty minutes, a young man from Paregaon, who was a swimmer, swam and pulled out her body from the farm pond. Vanita Somnath Madhwai reported the incident to the police. After the autopsy at Yeola Rural Hospital, she was cremated at Chichondi Khurd at 3 pm in a mournful atmosphere.
Meanwhile, a case of accidental death has been registered at Yeola City Police Station in this regard and Police Constable Sachin Raut is conducting further investigation. Also, as soon as the news of Komal’s death came to light in the Chichondi area, there was a stir in the area.
