The video of blowing a wad of notes to welcome the groom in Devalhwa village of Sadar police station area here has gone viral. Someone spread the rumor that notes worth Rs 20 lakh had been blown away. When these things were broadcast in the video, the police of Sadar police station reached the village on Tuesday night to investigate. He interrogated many people.
After interrogation, the police said that Rs 8-10 thousand were spent on the marriage. Some crushed notes were also blown away with him. But the talk of wasting Rs 20 lakh is false. The video of this case is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
There was a nephew’s wedding at Narul’s house in Devalhwa village. The marriage of one nephew was on 6th November and the marriage of the other nephew was on 14th November. At the time of marriage, the family members throw some wads of currency notes at the groom. A video of this was also made and broadcasted. Later someone spread a rumor that Rs 20 lakh was wasted in the wedding. When the police investigated the matter, they found out that not Rs 20 but Rs 10,000 had been thrown.
Narul said that the people of his village are converting to Islam. In marriage, only the Nikah ceremony is performed in the Muslim manner. All other rituals are performed as per Hindu customs. His nephew’s marriage was on 6th and 14th November. In this, a scarf is tied on the groom’s head. A horse was presented and the children of the house also spent eight to ten thousand rupees to welcome him. Someone spread a rumor that Rs 20 lakh had been looted. This is completely false. In this, some children have also blown crushed notes (fake notes).
