Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two teenagers were among the six arrested with weapons including a firearm, knife, axe, wooden sticks and red chillies packets in the Kanadiya area, police said on Friday.

The police claimed that the group was planning to commit a dacoity at a petrol pump, but their plan was foiled.

The accused allegedly told the police that they wanted to earn quick money by robbing the petrol pump and were carrying weapons to attack the security guard.

According to the police, they received information that a gang of armed miscreants was preparing to attack the security guard in order to rob the petrol pump near Star Square. The police cordoned off the area and nabbed them after chasing them for a while.

The accused have been identified as Nasir Khan of Suhana Park, Patel Nagar; Ali Hussain of Ashraf Nagar; Jitendra Chaudhary of Gandhi Village; Yasin Qureshi of Shalimar Colony; Mateen Sheikh; and Abdul Rehman. The police seized a country-made pistol, one live cartridge, two crowbars, one knife, one axe, a packet of chilli powder and wooden sticks from their possession.

While fleeing from the spot, Ali Hasan, Jitendra and Yasin sustained injuries to their hands and legs due to a fall. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections, and further investigation is underway.
