Mumbai – In Thane, more than 400 goats in two trucks were illegally taken under inhuman conditions, killing two goats. Police arrested two truck drivers from Gujarat on the basis of a complaint of a social organization worker. Thinen

47 -year -old Humtiaz Multani and 31 -year -old Multani Gafoor were arrested in the case. Both were residents of Chandtekdi village in Aravalli district of Gujarat and both worked as truck drivers.

Both these truck drivers were illegally taking 416 goats from Gujarat to Devnar slaughterhouse under inhuman conditions. Both these trucks were passing through Ghodbandar on Friday morning. Then the activists of a social organization stopped both trucks on suspicion and informed the police. As soon as the incident was reported, the Kasaravadavali police immediately reached the spot and after that both the drivers were asked about their license for the transport of animals. In which 150 animals were allowed to be taken in a truck.

Meanwhile, the police suspected and investigated both trucks. In which 234 goats were found in a truck. All these goats were kept in trucks under inhuman conditions. There was also lack of basic facilities like food, water and ventilation. Two dead goats were found during the truck investigation. After this, when the second truck was examined, 178 goats were found in it. Thus, transportation of more animals was found in both trucks than permission.

The police then arrested both the truck drivers from Gujarat.

In this case, 416 goats were saved safely and all the goats were taken to the shelter sites. The police further investigated the case and found out if both of them were involved in any major illegal livestock transport network.
