Uttar Pradesh: Two separate road accidents claimed three lives in Ghaziabad and Mirzapur late Wednesday (April 9) night, underlining the growing dangers of reckless driving across the state. While two youngsters lost their lives in a high-speed crash in Ghaziabad, a dumper driver was burnt to death after a head-on collision in Mirzapur.
Ghaziabad: Speeding Car Crashes Into Tree, Killing Two
In Ghaziabad, a fatal accident occurred at around 1:30 AM near the Collectorate office on the Hapur Road, wherein a speeding car lost control and rammed into a tree in the green belt. The crash happened on the lane heading from the old bus stand towards Hapur Chungi. As per reports, police claimed that both occupants of the car died on the spot.
The deceased’s bodies were taken to the hospital where doctors declared them dead upon arrival. ACP Kavinagar Swatantra Kumar Singh confirmed the incident and said efforts are currently underway to identify the victims. The accident site falls under the jurisdiction of the Kavinagar police station.
Mirzapur: Truck-Dumper Collision Sparks Fire, Torching Driver Alive
In a separate accident near Dhasra turn in Lalganj, Mirzapur, a head-on collision between a dumper and a truck led to a massive fire, killing the dumper driver, Babban, who was trapped inside the burning vehicle. The accident took place late Wednesday night, and initial investigations suggest the truck, loaded with wheat, was coming from the wrong direction.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Operation) OP Singh told Zee News that the blaze was brought under control with the help of the fire brigade, but not before the dumper driver succumbed to his injuries. Police have taken custody of the vehicles and initiated an investigation into the matter.
