Two private schools in Delhi received bomb threats through e-mail. According to reports, DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar received the threat around 7 am.
The school administrations have sent the students back to their homes. The police and the fire department have been informed about the threat.
Upon being informed, a Delhi police reached the spot.
The police have launched a search operation and are trying to trace the IP address of the mail sender.
According to an India Today report, the sender has demanded $30,000 and stated that if the demand is not fulfilled, the bombs hidden in multiple locations in the school will be detonated.
School administrations informed the parents of the students about the threat.
DPS R K Puram, in a communication to the parents, said, ‘Due to unforeseen circumstances, the school will remain closed today, Monday, 9th December 2024.
Students traveling by bus will be dropped back at their respective pickup bus stops.
Private commuters are requested to carry their wards back home.
Notably, in February this year, a similar threat was issued to a school that later turned out to be a hoax.
In May last year, DPS Mathura Road received a similar hoax threat.
