Thane News: 19-Year-Old Youth Nabbed By Ulhasnagar Crime Branch For Motorcycle Theft; 8 Stolen Bikes Worth ₹3.9 Lakh Seized | X|@ThaneCityPolice
Thane: In a major breakthrough, Crime Branch Unit 4 of the Ulhasnagar Police successfully arrested a 19-year-old youth involved in a series of motorcycle thefts across Thane, Kalyan, and Thane Rural areas on Tuesday. The arrest took place near the Ulhas River, close to Amardai Company, following a tip-off received by the police.
Acting swiftly on the information that 6 to 7 individuals were seen loitering in the area with a stolen bike, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Bande and his team laid a trap and apprehended the suspect, identified as Harshad Bharat Supe, a resident of Ulhasnagar.
Upon interrogation near Gaikwad Pada Vitthal Mandir in Ulhasnagar-5, Supe confessed to stealing multiple motorcycles with the help of a minor accomplice, referred to as a “child in conflict with the law.”
A total of eight motorcycles, collectively valued at Rs 3,90,000, were recovered from their possession. Further investigation revealed that the stolen vehicles were linked to theft cases registered at various police stations, including Vitthalwadi, Hill Line, Kalyan Taluka, Padgha, and Vartaknagar.
While the minor has been handed over to his guardians with a formal letter of understanding, the main accused, Harshad Bharat Supe, has been turned over to Vitthalwadi Police for further legal proceedings.
This commendable operation was carried out under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amar Singh Jadhav and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Shekhar Bagde.
The successful arrest was made possible through the coordinated efforts of Senior Police Inspector Ashok Koli and officers, including PSI Bande, PSI Pawar, and constables Thorve, Ganesh Gawde, Yogesh Wagh, Mangesh Jadhav, Amar Kadam, Ritesh Vanjari, Sanjay Shermale, Prasad Tondlikar, Ramdas Ugle, and driver Avinash Pawar.
