Thane: The Manpada police arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Dombivli. The accused, whose name has been withheld to protect his identity, is Mukesh, 19, a resident of Dombivli. The incident took place in the tuition classes in Dombivli on Wednesday when the tuition class teacher was not present.
The police said that the girl victim went to class to attend, but the teacher’s brother was at home and took advantage of the victim when she was alone. He took her to the bedroom and allegedly raped her.
The victim arrived home and narrated the entire episode to her mother regarding the accused’s actions. The mother informed family members and later approached the police station. A case was filed under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Ram Chopade, Police Inspector from Manpada police, said, “Based on the complaint of the victim’s mother, we filed an FIR against the accused. Thereafter, we arrested him. The accused was produced in court and remanded in police custody for further investigation.”
