Sukma: In the Naxal -affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, security forces killed 18 more Naxalites, including 11 women. A reward of Rs 25 lakh was declared on a Naxalite killed in this campaign. This is the second major campaign against Naxalites in 10 days. Along with this, several weapons including rocket launchers have also been seized.
About 150 Naxalites have been killed this year in the ongoing campaign against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. While about 10 soldiers of the opposing side have also been martyred. Most of these operations against the slain Naxalites were carried out in the Bastar region, which is considered a stronghold of Naxalites. 30 Naxalites were killed 10 days ago, while 29 Naxalites were killed on 9 February before that. Currently, Naxalite leaders are surrendering or are being encountered in other districts of Bijapur and Bastar.
Security forces said that four soldiers have also been injured during the entire campaign, out of which three are associated with District Reserve Guard (DRG) while one injured jawan is serving in CRPF. Among the slain Naxalites, a Naxalite was extremely dangerous, on which the police administration had declared a reward of Rs 25 lakh. Just 10 days ago, security forces carried out a major action in Bijapur and Kanker districts of Bastar and killed 30 Naxalites associated with the CPI (Maoist) organization.
Bastar Range IG Sundararaj PA told PTI that the encounter took place in the forest area under the Keralapal police station area at around 8 am. The security forces were going for an anti -Naxal campaign on Friday night, when there was a firing on Saturday morning.

15 Naxalites surrendered in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh
