Jalaun, 2 October (Hindustan Reporter). Under the Prime Minister TB Free India Campaign, 18 gram panchayats of Jalaun have become TB free. The DM honored the village heads by giving them certificates and mementos of the Father of the Nation. Village heads were appealed to make the people of their villages aware and cooperate in the TB-free campaign. A target has been set to make the country TB free by 2025.

Let us tell you that under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme, a campaign was launched for TB-free Gram Panchayat in the district. In the campaign, 18 gram panchayats of the district have been selected to be TB free. On the occasion of October 2, these Gram Panchayats were honored by District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Pandey by giving certificates to the heads in the Collectorate premises.

District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Devendra Kumar Bhitauria said that those villages have been selected as TB free Gram Panchayat. Where there is no TB patient per thousand population. The sputum of at least thirty probable TB patients out of a population of one thousand was randomly examined. When no TB patient was found, he was declared TB free. He said that by becoming TB-free Panchayat, literacy towards TB eradication will increase along with public awareness in Gram Panchayats.
