16-Yr-Old Girl Caught On CCTV Stealing Locker At Own House With Boyfriend’s Help In Ahmedabad | FPJ
Ahmedabad, January 30: A 16-year-old girl from Shela, Ahmedabad, has been caught stealing a locker from her own house after being influenced by her boyfriend. The crime was caught on CCTV, leading her father to file a police complaint against both his daughter and her boyfriend. The Bopal Police have arrested the accused boyfriend, and further investigation is ongoing.
Father Shocked After CCTV Footage Exposes Theft
As per reports, the incident took place in an apartment in Shela, where the girl’s father had kept a locker inside a cupboard on September 29, 2024. The locker contained 22 live cartridges (bullets) for a 12-bore gun, a firearm license, a passport, gold jewellery and other valuables worth ₹1.56 lakh.
A few months ago, while searching for his scooter documents, the father noticed that the locker was missing. Since he couldn’t find any clue at home, he checked the CCTV footage of the apartment. To his shock, the footage showed his own daughter and a young man carrying a box out of the house.
Girl Refuses to Admit the Theft
When the father questioned his daughter, she did not give a clear answer. Later, he found out that the boy seen in the footage was Rituraj Singh Chavda, a resident of Bordi Mill, Kankaria, Ahmedabad. However, the girl denied stealing the locker, claiming she had taken only another box with different items.
Police Investigation and Boyfriend’s Arrest
Since the locker contained bullets and important documents, the father reported the theft to Bopal Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police arrested Rituraj Singh and started questioning him.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the girl and Rituraj met during Navratri two years ago and later became close. Rituraj was facing financial problems, so he convinced the girl to steal the locker from her house.
After stealing it, they threw the stolen items in the bushes near Vasna Riverfront.
Police Continue Investigation
Bopal Police stated that, since ammunition (bullets) were involved, the case is being thoroughly investigated. The police are also looking into the legal action to be taken against both the minor girl and Rituraj Singh.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are trying to recover the stolen items and determine if any further legal charges will be applied.
