A 13 year old boy from Navi Mumbai municipal school of Ghansoli, died in school picnic at an adventure park in Khopoli on Tuesday evening.
The boy identified as Ayush Singh, a student of class VIII of school number 76 in Ghansoli was among the 416 students who had gone for the picnic. The students who had gone for the picnic were from class 6 to class 8. “All the rides were done and the teacher was assembling the kids for return when the child suddenly vomited and collapsed. As per the class teacher he was regular to school and no pre existing health condition was informed to us,” NMMC education officer Aruna Yadav said.
While going to press, the father of the boy was unaware of the death of the child and was on his way to Khopoli after getting to know of the son being unwell.”We are yet to file an accidental death report as the postmortem report is awaited and statement of the father is also yet to be recorded. Primafacie, it appears to be a health condition which caused the death,” police inspector Sachin Pawar from Khalapur police station said.
According to police, after the boy collapsed, he was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital wherein he was declared dead on arrival.
