At least 13 people lost their lives and nine others were injured in a devastating train accident near Pachora in the Bhusaval division of Central Railway on Wednesday evening. The tragedy occurred when passengers of the Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express jumped off the train due to rumors of a fire, only to be struck by the speeding Karnataka Express on an adjacent track. According to sources, four of the deceased were Nepali nationals, and six out of the 13 deceased have been identified, with the process of identification ongoing for the remaining six.
Kamala Navin Bhandari, a 43-year-old female from Colaba, Mumbai, and a Nepali resident; Lachchiram Khataru Pasi, a 40-year-old male Nepali resident; Imtiyaz Ali, a 35-year-old male from Uttar Pradesh; Nasiruddin Badruddin Ansari, a 19-year-old male from Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh; Himmu Namdram Vishwakarma, an 11-year-old male Nepali resident; Babu Khan, a 27-year-old male from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh; and Javakala Bhate, a 60-year-old female from Bhiwandi, Thane, and a Nepali resident, have lost their lives in this incident.

The nine injured passengers have been identified as Hasan Ali, Vijay Kumar, Uttam Harjan, Dharma Sawant, Abu Mohammad, Mohara, Hakeem Ansari, Deepak Thapa, and Hujala Sawant.
An ex-gratia amount of ₹50,000 each was distributed to the five grievously injured passengers, including Hasan Ali, Vijay Kumar, Uttam Harjan, Dharma Sawant, and Abu Mohammad, at Vrindavan Hospital and Vighnaharta Hospital in Pachora. Additionally, ₹5,000 was given to the four simply injured passengers, including Moharam, Hakeem Ansari, Deepak Thapa, and Hujala Sawant.
On receipt of first report by Pachora station superintendent entire team of divisional officers with the DRM Ity Pandey reached site. Meantime ambulance fire brigade and state administration were informed and Pushpak was started within 15 mins of track given safe. All injured were rushed to hospital..
The Divisional Railway Manager of Bhusawal division, Ity Pande, visited both hospitals with her team and distributed a total ex-gratia amount of ₹270,000 to the nine injured passengers. Furthermore, an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1.5 lakh will be given to the family member/legal heir of each of the deceased.
