1,294 Murdered In Madhya Pradesh In Nine Months; Most Killings Were For Money | Representative Image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In the past nine months, 1294 people had been murdered for various reasons across the state, officials said here on Sunday. The motive behind the murders is personal vendetta, family disputes and money in which cases of loot and burglary were done along with killings.
From January to September, 2.25 lakh cases of different crimes had been registered in police stations. In several cases the motive of the murder was loot or burglary. The criminals first killed the victims and later looted them.
In this period in 2023, 1,491 people were murdered, whereas in the current year 1,294 killings were reported. In Gwalior’s City Centre area, this year the police had arrested the accused of mother-daughter murder case. The murder was done for burglary.
In Jabalpur, a recovery agent was murdered and was looted. The police arrested three in the case. Similarly in Sagar, three people were killed and the police solved the case and arrested the accused. In Chhindwara’s Junnardev, a field officer of a finance company was first looted and later killed. The police solved the case and arrested the three accused of the case.
Similarly, 1,051 people faced attempt to murder incident, whereas in 2023, 1,397 had faced the incident. In 2023, 1,052 cases of loot were reported and in the current year 752 cases of loot had been reported. As many as 40 cases of dacoity were also reported and 7,969 cases of house break and 24,512 cases of burglary were reported in the state.
Shivpuri police have solved the burglary case, in which theft of Rs 50 lakh was reported at the house of a furniture businessmen, within a few hours. Other cases of BNS sections of more than Rs 15.29 lakh were reported in this period. In the past nine months, 2.29 lakh criminal cases are registered in the current year and in last year 2.37 lakh were reported. A slight drop is seen in the crime graph in the past nine months compared to last year.
