Jaisalmer: One person was killed while two others were left injured in an accident that took place on the Jaisalmer-Barmer National Highway-68 on Tuesday, as per reports. The incident reportedly occurred when the driver of a Mahindra Scorpio SUV was trying to flee from a toll booth on the highway to avoid paying the toll fee.
Video Shows Badly Damaged SUV
In a video that has gone viral on the internet, one can see the Scorpio flipped on the driver’s side bearing a lot of damage. A mob can be seen near the vehicle with some looking at the badly damaged vehicle while some trying to enter the vehicle from the rear end.
Driver Tried To Avoid Paying ₹126 Toll Fee
According to reports, the accident took place when the driver attempted to flee away from the toll booth in a bid to avoid paying just Rs 126 toll fee. The driver rushed his vehicle away from the toll booth. In response, some individuals hurled stones at the fleeing vehicle. Unfortunately, a stone hit the driver causing him to lose control of the speeding SUV.
SUV Flipped 3-4 Times During Crash
The vehicle then reportedly flipped 3-4 times before halting sideways. As a result, the driver’s side was totally damaged. The number of total occupants in the SUV, bearing a Gujarat-registered number plate, is unclear as of now. However, one of them wad dead in the crash and two others were left injured.
