Pune Metro Sets New Record: ₹7.47 Crore Revenue In April, Ridership Crosses 46.59 Lakh | File Photo

Pune Metro generated ₹7.47 crore in revenue in the month of April, while the ridership was 46.59 lakh, according to the data on its website.

The Ramwadi to Vanaz line contributed more — ₹4.10 crore with a ridership of 26.18 lakh — compared to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Swargate line, which raked in ₹3.41 crore with a ridership of 20.40 lakh, the data showed.

Sharing the news on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Pune Metro wrote, “In April 2025, over 4.6 million passengers travelled by Pune Metro. This mode of transport is not only eco-friendly but also a time-saving option for commuters. Keep Riding!”

This is by far the second-highest revenue and ridership of Pune Metro in 2025. The highest was in January, when Pune Metro generated ₹7.87 crore in revenue, while the ridership was 49.64 lakh. Meanwhile, in February, ₹6.73 crore was collected, while the ridership was 43.07 lakh. Pune Metro generated ₹7.01 crore in revenue in March, while the ridership was 44.81 lakh.

Recently, Pune Metro revealed its top five stations with respect to passenger footfall. “These stations see it all — the morning rush, evening sighs and everything in between! Here are the top 5 metro stations with the highest footfall across the city,” read the caption on X.

As per the post, the PCMC Metro Station is the busiest, with an average footfall of 18,000 passengers per day. The Swargate Metro Station ranked second on the list, with an average footfall of 15,000 passengers per day. Ramwadi, Mandai, and Pune Railway Station Metro Stations are ranked third jointly, with an average footfall of 13,000 passengers per day.
