Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Goods worth over ₹30 lakhs were completely destroyed in a massive fire that broke out at a cloth showroom in Rewa on Sunday afternoon.
The fire, caused by a short circuit, engulfed the shop, turning everything to ashes. The incident caused panic among nearby shopkeepers and residents.
Firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to control the blaze, but the damage was extensive. No injuries were reported, but the financial loss is significant, leaving the shop owner devastated.
However, the two trapped persons were evacuated safely.

The police and fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire after a lot of effort.
Upon ruckus, the nearby people informed the police and fire brigade team. It reached the spot. However, by then all the goods kept in the shop had been completely burnt to ashes.
It was reported that goods worth more than 30 lakhs were destroyed.
However, the owner of the showroom alleged that the fire brigade team didn’t reach the spot on time due to which a lot of loss had been occurred.
Notably, the cloth showroom owner informed that their shop was being operated at Sirmour intersection from a long time.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire at the Rewa cloth showroom to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the short circuit.
Officials are also assessing the extent of the damage and whether safety protocols were followed. Fire department personnel have confirmed that forensic teams will inspect the site to gather evidence.
Meanwhile, the local administration has urged shop owners in the area to review their electrical systems to prevent similar incidents in the future.
